St George Turtle Reserve

we have heard that no one has actually seen any turtles on the turtle reserve in the St George area. Morgan has done her share of searching in the Paradise Canyon area by Papa's Place

BASEBALL - You'd think he'd love it

most of us that know Todd know that BASEBALL is his first love

Finally he has a son to pass on the father-son tradition he had with his dad

Alec LOVES to play catch, to run the bases (in all directions), to wear the hat & shirt, and to hit the ball.

I, Mom, was not filling the position of coach very well especially since the dogs and I could not talk Alec into running the bases in the correct direction. I also wasn't much of a sport being the pitcher, catcher and fielder so our baseball experiences were limited.

I signed him up with some of the neighborhood kids to play Fall T-BALL at the U of U field house. The first few times were GrEAt! Other kids, cool building, DAD, a ball and a mit.

The problem comes that Alec does not really like to stand still in the field with everyone else and WATCH and WAIT both in line to bat and for SoMeTHiNg to hApPEn! Last Monday Alec actually told his dad that he was "TOO BIG for BASEBALL" When he got to the field house this week he found the sleds and such that are used for FoOtBaLL and they were pretty cool.

I do feel this was a success ... Alec got a HAT, a team SHIRT, got to BAT in the U of U field house, and had TeAm PiCTuReS - he now has a picture to rival the dancing sister's

This summer we told Alec NO MORE DIAPERS after only a few months he got peeing down he has even become successful peeing while standing up and not all over the floor he favorite thing is probably peeing on the bushes and secondly watching the "circle" in the toilet and making cool patterns We really want Alec to POOP in the toilet. ALEC will NOT Here are some of the hoops we are jumping through to coax Alec to do this "If you sit on the potty you can wear the pirate eye patch" "if you sit on the potty you can play with Anna's new bouncy ball" "if you sit on the potty ..." Now we have a counter full of toys that Alec gets when he poops in the toilet He will tell you all about it "I get a helicopter when I poop in the toilet"

It was GrEaT until ... going home UPhiLL Still - great bike Trikes have FoOtBrEakS

For Taylor's birthday we went to I-Hop with friends Taylor, Jordan Wilson, Max Anderson and Isaac Campbell the kids got hot cocoa with whip cream when we first sat down they were pretty excited Fun way to celebrate

first we needed to wait for her mouth to adjust on its own

then MOM just kept spacing on getting Dr. Bart called for an appointment

Well, here they are - Anna's getting very good at making smoothies

Thank goodness Dr. Bart gave her a gift card for Jamba Juice

It's amazing how braces make a beautiful girl even more beautiful

(I remember when Morgan got them - wow too)

I think she's matching her hair flowers to her bands as much as possible

Morgan had the time of her life this summer

However, she did mention to Dr. Ferre that this hasn't been the kind of summer she'd expected and even hoped for. It seems she didn't do that much.

GaLAxy QuEsT the FinAl FrOnTieR BSA camp

all of June & July (leave the house before 7:30 am - home around 4)

found the world's most huggest snail/slug on a tree at camp

VAI FiGuRE aCAdEmY for 10 days (all day)

BEaR LaKe with the YM/YW - tubed and tubed and more - came home exhausted!

GirLs CaMp with the stake YW - rained but good time had by all

Weekend eXcUrSiON the last weekend before school with the Galaxy Quest crew

after BSA was over . . . SLEEP IN almost every day past 10 (sometimes past noon)

SUMMER 2009 a quick wrap up

so what have we been up to all this time???

so far we've made it fishing one time

we did a Saturday, day trip to Trial Lake

the view was beautiful - so much so the camera only gave us sillhouettes of the people

Iva and Ballerina came and spent the afternoon with us. Iva was very pregnant - I think she was exhausted watching Alec ride his bike and run as fast as he could. It's really nice to spend time with them

Iva had Lindon (grandpa) call to have me come to the hospital for the baby to be born

unfortunately, my cell phone turns off at 11:30 pm and he called at 11:45 so I didn't hear til morning. All went well and she had a quick delivery. Thank goodness there was not a problem with a spinal bleed this time! Here she is brand new the next morning.

Anna desperately wants Iva to let us have the baby for a day or two - hasn't happened yet and school begins next week.
